SOUTH BEACH FRENZY

Art Basel Miami annually dials up the city’s chaotic Florida energy even more, and 2024 was no exception. As thousands of international art (and design) aficionados descended upon the buggy swamps off Miami’s coast, PIN–UP had at least two reasons to celebrate: the debut of PIN–UP HOME’s USMNYC collection at Sarah Andelman’s Art Basel Shop, and, of course, the release of PIN–UP’s new Museum issue! Staid “Museum vibes" were nowhere to be found, however, in the debauchery that ensued when PIN–UP partnered with Parisian superclub Silencio and über-gallery Perrotin to take over The Basement — The Miami EDITION’s underground haunt. Thanks to PIN–UP faves Eartheater and Martyn Bootyspoon on the decks, the night turned into a proper South Beach frenzy, with an eclectic guest list that ranged from musician Lourdes Leon to MoMA design curator Paola Antonelli.
