It’s no secret that Miami Art Week is no longer just about art. The design world is increasingly making its Miami presence felt as a way to celebrate novelties — and itself. On Tuesday, December 5, 2023, Salone del Mobile.Milano, the world’s biggest design fair, claimed its significant stake in the game by teaming up with PIN–UP for an Italian-flavored rooftop aperitivo at Soho Beach House. Co-hosted by Salone del Mobile.Milan president Maria Porro and PIN–UP’s founder Felix Burrichter, the party brought together guests from the worlds of art, architecture, design, and fashion for cocktails and a Milanese buffet courtesy of Cecconi’s Miami. Music by Skype Williams and Dese Escobar helped the 300+ revelers celebrate over 60 years of Salone and PIN–UP’s new issue. Among the notable guests in attendance were Patricia Urquiola, Eric N. Mack, Piero Lissoni, Kouros Maghsoudi, Marva Griffin, Adam Charlap Hyman and Andre Herrero, Marco Sabetta, Rich Aybar, Camille Okhio, Job Piston, Diya Vij, Rene Gonzalez, Nifemi Marcus-Bello, Hans Ulrich Obrist, Giulia Molteni, Beatrice Galilee, Lorcan O'Neill, and Lafawndah. TBC in Milan in April 2024 for Salone’s 62nd edition. Ciao!
